This is an A1 soft pastel drawing of the gardens of the Alcazar de los Reyes in central Cordoba. It was begun on a cold, grey, rainy Sunday in London, remembering warmer climates and the beauty and serenity of the Alcazar.
This is a work comprised of a series of drawings made on location in Barcelona and then photographed in that location. The drawings made were then left there, if possible left with the owner of the space and then the photographs displayed with sound recordings of the ambient atmosphere. The intentions of the work were to evidence the reasons I decided to stop and capture the space in a single drawing by recreating its atmosphere for the viewer.
This collection of 11 A5 pencil drawings map out the shape of the city of London, escaping from the madness of the city streets below.
